I don’t mind that Siri doesn’t write the words that I quote, but it really ticks me off when she sends it before I get a chance to edit it. I meant to say that doc really hit a home run on his last two song pics. in the last two hours. Also, there is some simple pleasure and rooting for the underdog. Wouldn’t it be great if we hit this over 69 minutes?
Hey Doc. You were hit home runs in the last two hours. Also, there is some simple pleasure and rooting for the underdog. Wouldn’t it be great if we hit this over 69 minutes?
Picked the wrong game to use my gifted diamond seats. Everything was nice except for the game. 6-0 by the time we finished free lunch and sat down. The last 2 games I've gone to the Reds scored nada. At least we saw one good team.
My office is high up in the Scripps Center on 3rd Street, looking out into GABP and the Banks, and is the perfect spot to see the foot traffic into GABP. The Tampa Bay 3 game series total of about 31,000 that Doc cites is sheer fantasy when you are talking butts in the seats. More like there were perhaps a few thousand for each of the 3 games. Of course these are pre-summer, weekday games against an opponent nobody cares about. But even for the games against the Cubs, foot traffic was quite low. In my 3+ decades of looking out onto Riverfront and now GABP, it's never been as bad. I mean, last year's foot traffic was awful, but it's now noticeably worse. If that doesn't scare the Castellinis, I don't know what will.
In comparison, FC Cincinnati home games are now all sold out. I am an FCC season ticket holder. I look at FCC and the Reds as interchangeable entertainment. I didn't go to a single Reds game last year, and don't plan on going to a single Reds game this year. The Reds put a garbage product onto the field. They don't deserve my business. It was like that too with the Bengals, until Burrow came around and, literally, saved the Bengals (and assuring they are staying in Cincinnati).
Doc, if you wonder what it's like with FCC these days (currently atop of the standings in the MLS Eastern Conference), I'd love to take you to a game.! Feel free to reach out to me!
I know your comment about your radio days was an aside, and I hate brown nosers generally…but I for one thought you were really good on WLW. I think sports talk really needs two hosts to simulate the guys talking sports in a bar vibe, but you were as good as or better than anyone else I’ve heard doing solo talk before or since.
I'm down with a Tiger in the Cart, which kinda sounds like a new drink....but would he be? Depends on how much he misses playing majors. Maybe the newly rebuilt/fused ankle will allow him to walk again. He's close to the Senior Tour, which both Jack and Arnie and all the other greats played, so maybe he'll wait till it's totally cool to be in a cart. Either way, I hope he still gets out and plays a bit. His swing is still beautiful.
Is there a Goat HOF, you know, for the Goat Goats?
Thought you had retired butterball, glad to see you still churning out the morning line.
Ran across this article describing how Scott’s got us all hooked on the “perfect lawn”….. https://fortune.com/2023/04/11/painted-lawns-american-grass-yards/
Guessing 2nd prize was 2 gold star 3-ways for life
Wow, Scott's is under your skin. It is spring btw, time to feed your lawn. Apparently LW hoodwinked Scott's into multi commercial slots.
I give up. I didn’t want to compare this year’s team to the 69 Mets.

Who would’ve ever guessed that I would enjoy reading about goats over the Reds ….. bring on the goat stories…

I’m afraid this isn’t what rock bottom looks like, but we’re circling the block.

Can you feed your lawn Gold Star? Two birds one stone three ways?
There’s no way Tiger would use a cart!!
