Add the great baseball fan/thinker George Will to your executive team. He’s had thoughts on this issue forever. Love the use of ChatGPT as a problem solver. It’s the opposite of OG!

On the list of smart Mobster's I am no where need the top. In fact, close to the bottom for sure. That said, in Fields of Dreams didn't they say , "If you build it they will come." If the Reds owners cannot invest heavily into the business knowing that they may take a loss until the team is a contender then sell the team to someone who will invest. Don't you think that if the Reds were a consistent playoff team that the stadium would be filled and ownership could raise prices and recoup their investment?

I like Mixon. If our offensive line were better at creating holes isn't having Mixon and Perine tag team this thing better than trading/drafting for an unknown commodity? I may be wrong, maybe there is another RB that will be cheaper and will run better. This team is better than taking a chance on a maybe, in my opinion. Enjoy TML and the Mobsters.

I see a couple folks beat me to it, but I am far more outraged at Johnny Rivers not being in the R-n-R HoF than I am about Pete's absence in Cooperstown.

I think our guest Hemingway has some good ideas. Not least being unleashing the power of the Mobsters to fix this - and all - problems in this maladjusted world. We're good enough. We're smart enough. And gosh darn it, people like us.

I love the idea of grassroots reform. The problem is that such movements only get rolling if the issue at stake has wide-ranging relevance to peoples' lives and therefore garners appropriate levels of outrage. MLB's problem is that the slow progression of trickle-up economics has led to the gradual onset of apathy and alternatives to the point that the feet on the ground that you need are playing golf or watching soccer.

I wasn't sure I'd weigh in on the baseball salvation movement plan until I read the following words; "Imagine what would happen if the intellect and power of the TML Mobsters were harnessed! " Obviously you are talking to me directly, so I am willing to provide my substantial brain power under a few conditions:

1. I work under a no-cut "understanding" on the project, and am guaranteed a salary of $3 mil a year that goes up every year.

2. I can skip the spring period of training for us radical protesters. I will be ready to go by opening day....unless protest sign holding injuries hold me back.

3. I refuse to genuflect whenever the Commish walks by.

4. I am free to negotiate a better deal with one of the rich oligarth owners, thus assuring my personal future as an equally wealthy man

5. If this works, I am to be known as the man who saved baseball. I will be automatically installed in MLB HOF, and statues will be erected everywhere in my honor. I will also be allowed to install one player of my choice into the Hall. Hello., Peter Edward. This is Your Life.

When do we start?

I believe you should also be entitled to a well appointed office at a location of your choosing. Perhaps you would find the 19th hole at Hickory suitable.

Nicely done, Carl.

I’m thinking the only way to use the bully club pulpit with baseball’s free spending ultra billionaires is to throw them the low hard one…a hand’s length below the center belt. Less a brush back pitch but more a pitch to the brush.

A recent University College London study found that men who think they have smaller brush piles will spend more lavishly on luxury items than men who have a larger thicket.

There is only one thing men privately worry more about than money.; their boxwood. The embarrassment of having all of humanity thinking an MLB owner has low boxwood energy should be enough to stop the spending spree.

All bitcoin, No “bark”! All bitcoin, No “bark”!

BTW…the Jimmy Carter doc that Doc referenced yesterday, Jimmy Carter: Rock and Roll President, is on HBO. 97% Rotten Tomatoes score. Carter’s a great man regardless of what anyone may feel about him politically. A TRUE GREAT American.

If MLB owners and the know nothings @ MLB headquarters would take a look at the winter sport.....they may truly learn something. The NFL has set up a system that works incredibly well. Small market Bengals in a Super Bowl and a play or 2 away from 2 in a row. For the game to truly benefit everyone....everyone must have a chance.

I have always been in the minority with my friends regarding Mixon. He has always just gone down too easily (1st contact). My friends started to come around this past season...

I don't think there will ever be parity in MLB, I think we are better off holding the Reds ownership's feet to the fire.

It's not my money either. But a small amount of it used to be, before I spent it on the Reds. That's what customers do. And when they feel they've had enough of an inferior product, they move on.

Phil Castellini is not a cornered coyote. He's a pampered rich kid who has no concept whatsoever of what it means to fall without a net. I have as much sympathy as he would have for me if I had sold him a bill of goods.

I love baseball. I would love to see your scenario play out. But I don't love the Castellini's. And I sure as hell don't feel sorry for them.

I can’t disagree with cutting Mixon, but I do hope they resign Perine. He has shown he can be the #1 RB and he’s a great blocker. 72 and sunny today. Hit em straight!

Great job, Carl. I love it! It's a wonderful strategy! Where can I buy a t-shirt??

Should the Bengals cut Mixon? I don't know.

Johnny Rivers should be in the Rock and Roll HOF. He had a very good career and also was a great producer, as well.

Stunning that Johnny Rivers isn't in the RRHOF. Especially when you think of some of those who are in.

Exactly. Dolly Parton (a great artist, to be sure) is in, but Johnny Rivers isn't?? Crazy.

I love Dolly. But I think she'd be the first to say that JR contributed more to R+R than she.

Agreed. She is probably the greatest female artist in Country Music history (apologies to Patsy, Loretta, and Tammy).

I'm particularly sweet on Emmylou Harris. But Dolly is a national treasure.
