Thanks for the background. I didn’t know any of that.

Christine Brennan is a putz. She has her own "addictions", one of which is to look for victimization of women where there is none. I call her a addict because she habitually targets certain demographics , namely men, with her toxic, pungent self-righteousness. She is not a voice for women, she is a bigot for women. Therein lies the problem.

There's a living to be made these days off of playing the "victim" card, but it's not an honorable living. There are many issues where true equality is needed. But with every movement come false prophets and corruption. Once again her caustic poison pushes into reverse the work needed on real problems. I make it a point not to read her gunk any more, Doc. If you hadn't brought it up, I wouldn't even have known about it. By pointing her words out, you remind me that there are many on the left who make a career out of pushing a dishonest and ultimately hurtful agenda. Revenge is never much of a solution in the long run.

This is some weak sauce here, Pogo. If we look to the lede we see the establishment of the "we all LOVE to be outraged ALL the time" trope. Assuming that's not sarcasm or irony (usually bad practice in the lede unless it's spelled out) Doc then totally reverses course to then demonize the target of the piece for what? Being outraged all the time! It's not OK for HER to be this because she's so outraged all of the time ... and it's made even worse because this outrage is because of entrenched misogyny, something that golf world frankly admits is a longstanding entrenched problem it has that it allegedly seeks to right that alleged wrong. Then citing a handful of Doc's own pet outrage topics as some sort of justification (?) why the woman's rant is out of line. This just reeks of the standard projection/gaslight/blameshift behavior of your basic firehosing IRA trollbot to the veteran blogofile (i.e. me). Do you dis/agree or are you just doing perfunctory IRA Troll #2 style amplification piling on? Maybe the point 👉 of it all is Golf Planet is really just fine with being the last outpost and bastion of defending the institution of the He-man Woman Haters Club? Hmmmm...?

Weak? Ouch! Ya know, I find that those who think they hold the moral high ground are often the biggest bigots on earth. Far leftist thinking in the US bores me to death, because it's so reductionist and dishonest. It's extremely narrow minded, which makes sense, because it takes a really narrow minded person to assume the moral high ground in the first place without earning it. Just for balance, the extreme and middle road right do the same. Both ways of thinking are cancers in my book, and hark of neo-fascism.

You criticize Doc for assumed behaviors that are in reality daily, overused tactics used by Brennan, yet you are sadly silent on her behavior. I find this super hypocritical. Anyone with a brain can see Christine Brennan's history of gaslighting and talking out her arse. Perhaps you willfully choose to blind yourself to it, because as a women, she can only be a warrior for righteousness, right? She's never wrong, right? Hog wash! Or is it that criticizing her doesn't fit your tired agenda that America is the land of entrenched misogyny? Men bad: women good: how much more reductionist can you get? ( Keep in mind there is a political movement by many Christian right women to discriminate against transgender women. Such moral women, right?). To add to that, her ego is so fragile she blocks everyone who disagrees with her. She keeps her job, not because of content or skill, but because her bigotry is protected by ESPN's radical leftist bias, which has (lucky for us)imploded on itself the last 10 years. You wanna back this horse, go ahead. I call it a fool's mission. Y know, in horse racing, it doesn't matter whether you're a filly or a stallion; if you don't keep your proper lane, you get DQ'd. Brenna wanders all over the track, not caring who she bumps or throws off stride. The stewards need to DQ her. Let's agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Ok, here's the first gaslight I'm gonna point out. I never said anything about any "America the land of entrenched misogyny" agenda. The fact of Golf Planet still holding onto this concrete and admitted longstanding tradition of discriminating against women being "allowed" to join establishments is something that has been a.justified complaint for anyone concerned about equal rights and fairness for quite some time. This is not something that came about now, and certainly not because of Tiger's little prank. Supposedly progress was being made. I don't think anybody including Brennan was too truly offended by just that prank TBH. If you read what she wrote, her criticism was that the capitalist market seekers were not being true to themselves due to hypocritcally not caring whether any admitted progress in re improving this attitude was actually being taken seriously. And as far as this "dreams" of playing golf being shattered business being insulting to the grit of girls, again if you read Brennan's words she is talking about post-college athletes choosing among many choices for leisure time activities from their work lives. What "dreams"? That's just pure hogwash firehosing to try to apply it to young competitors coming up. Those people she's citing would be contemplating taking up golf as a social leisure hobby in their 2os. So why NOT have at least a concern whether the Hooters scenario that has been described elsewhere is still the prevalent paradigm rather than another spirt where that's not the approved attitude status quo?

Well, I'm happy and almost stunned to find out you agree with me that America is not entrenched with misogyny. Thanks for sharing that.

Brennan's words are subject to many interpretations. Yours and mine are different. I made clear what I think of her and her agenda. You can believe whatever you want. End of story.

Misogyny is being promoted by the right echo chamber antics and hyper-amplified through media and especially AI targeted firehosing from Prigozhin's IRA troll complex which also stokes such as internet chat rooms that groom rightwing terrorists like the transformer attacking militia freaks, HBCU bomb threateners, proud bois and oath keepers, David DePape, Buffalo and Hyde Park single shooters to maybe include the Uvalde freak, etc etc. I suspect there's a special unit for this kind maybe going back to Columbine trolling single shooter game chatrooms for mentally ill medicated disenfranchised loners. There was that retired FBI agent on Gab with the Buffalo shooter basically walking him through all the steps

The purest form is in targeting the various American alt right. It helps to be aware that Putin is the #1 global godfather of fascist neonazism and Prigohzin is the commander of both Wagner Group and the IRA propaganda complex and Putin's #1 righthand man

And the endorsement as regards all loving outrage 24/7 is from Doc, not me. If you truly follow where I'm going on that score, the constant outrage thing is currently a Kremlin-amplified tactic generally employed by the right side of the spectrum (Murdoch, Koch, GQP and alt right extremists) in the interest of keeping the common man from uniting against exploitation by the oligarchal class. Here's where I'm going to ask you to read the BMSK wikipedia entry and then particularly the 3rd and then 4th footnotes there. Also take note that outfit opened up a branch office in St Petersburg circa 2oo5. And then maybe Paul Manafort's wiki entry paying particular attention to the career sections as to just how he basically exported, implemented and trained the Deripaska/Putin/Prigozhin oligarchal cabal in an expanded form (adding misogyny, anti-LGBTQ, and anti-intellectualism) of Atwater's southern strategy onto traditional Kremlin hybrid warfare as described now by the "firehose of falsehoods" propaganda paradigm (see Rand Corp and wiki for details) .... everybody with their outrage 24/7 and getting bent about that itself is Kremlin hybrid warfare psyops directed at the USA and the Western world (and seditious as Hell) to keep us playing Putin's game. Nigel Farage, Marine LePen, the fascists that actually got just elected in Italy and Trump are all Kremilin assets in this hybrid warfare that Russia currently wages against Democracy

Single most ignorant thing I've ever read on Substack times 10. I empathize with your situation as a parent my kid Fentanyled to death. Not easy. But all you're doing with this ignorance -- and you know it is, this unwillingness to see Tiger and his felonies toward women -- and yes, he's a misogynist, through and through, how can you think he's not? -- is dragging everyone backward. Go spout this stuff in some corner where shrivelling men think they still decide for everyone else.

I like women. He doesn't. I don't like men who treat women like trash, and I sure don't want to be told to worship them. Today the NY Times had a column about how sports can lift us all up, and cited, for example, the South Carolina women's team...and Tiger's birdies at the Genesis. False equivalency, as they say. Guys stuck in fifth grade re: girls are a dime a dozen. Guys who want to fuck strippers are a dime a dozen. Married guys who can ask their assistants to approach the hottest (see "stripper") girls in the club and have them sent over over to the table are obviously rarer since the rest of us don't have that kind of assistant.

I drove a taxi specializing in weekend nights for 2o+ years so I got the backstage underground perspective on the whole stripper/dancer scene. Borderline personality disorder is Job1 for one side and dupes/marks would characterize the patholigical moths drawn to that flame on the other. When the 'gentleman's clubs' (sometimes competing) routinely grant you $5/head or more bounty in the parking lot just for dropping marks off you know you're dealing within a lucrative racket

Of course it was premeditated good fun. Extreme narcissists are nothing if not about control and punishment. Just the right expected occurrence to apply the exquisite jocular needle for the gruesomely artful burn with his good li'i buddy JT. Which is all well and good, it was what happened. It's in the news.

I also believe he never intended... or at least anticipated ... that such privately joshing images as did would have emerged. For as tightly as he controls his public image of superstar ambassador for the game which towers over the whole global golfing industrial complex, I can also see he'd also have this particular blind spot due to the tone deafness that is another stereotypical trait of a narcopath. Which I'm surmising he is to some degree due to all the psychiatric treatment for sex addiction, infidelity and/or whatever other compusivity issues he could fit into an exclusive interview expose for public consumption in the quest for forgiveness and absolution and public good will

There is a big difference between a disability and a friendly joke. Some things are off the table and some people look very hard to find something to make a big deal out of nothing! There are a lot of miserable / jealous people who try to make someone look bad because they aren’t happy with their own life. I’ve seen it for years dealing with parents, coaches and people in politics!

I just wish people would be nicer to others and show some respect. The world is in a bad place and it’s a lot different than when I grew up or maybe I’m just more aware because I’ve had to deal with it.

On the flip side we have so much to be thankful for if we would just take the time to appreciate it!

I am a woman and every time I hear Tiger Woods name, I want to lie down in a cool place. Right, Doc? He has shown us over and over who he is and people don’t seem to want to believe it. Womanizer, adulterer, drug user, driving cars while drugged or intoxicated. Can’t believe he managed to not kill anyone. I stopped caring about Tiger and his records long ago. When do we start caring what kind of people these super heroes are? I’d love to watch a golf tournament sometime and not hear his name mentioned a thousand times. Disclaimer. I don’t play golf but I enjoy sports and love watching golf tournaments- except those he’s playing in.

The word "woke" just grates on me. The worst offenders are the ones who use the term incessantly. It is used to divide us, and I refuse to fall into that rabbit hole.

The first thing I though was, about the tiger joke, "Was it used?" Now, that would need some explaining. Tiger loves women, we already know that. It was a joke between two guys. So what, I say. And, heck we all know, if you've been to a LPGA event, that women can hit a golf ball as far as men. Even, surprisingly, those of small stature. It's amazing, actually, and I wish I could. Golf is more about accuracy, and finesse, anyway.

Here's a true story about a tampon on the golf course where I live. The event was a Hooter's event. Disgusting, actually. Some of you may have been to one of these outings. 4 men and 1 Hooter. She does all the bidding in her scanty outfit; rides in one of the carts on a guy's lap; has to tee up each person's ball at each T exposing most of her derriere, and, whatever; and left, on the green behind the house, a 'used' tampon. It truly was disgusting. No class in that group. Plus plenty of beer cans were left scattered. The cops could have had a DUI Holiday.

Agree with everything you said Doc. I tried to find her article on Twitter only to find I had been “blocked” by her. I have maybe 75 “followers”. I went back this morning and looked - I commented on her tweet in 2020 regarding the Big Ten deciding to play football instead of cancel the season. She was so distraught over that decision, called them the SEC!!

She’s a Northwestern grad. My comment was “imagine being so biased that you root against something positive happening. All the HS, Pro, and half the colleges decided to play.”

That’s it. And got blocked. Dumb.
