Great piece as usual today, Doc. A few knee jerk reactions: 1. When Chase signs he and Joe will likely take up 30% of the Bengals payroll. I expect Burrow and the Bengals to restructure finances like Mahomes and the Chiefs in the future to stay on top. The Chiefs are already our blueprint. 2. The Brady roast mostly saddened me. I like a good inappropriate joke now and then for sure, but not anywhere near that scale. And since this was the precedent, future roasts will be endeavoring to Trump it. All puns intended. That saddens me even more. It’s that old question. Am I just getting old, or is the world getting less appealing in almost every imaginable capacity? The answer I suppose is Both. And, as you know, that’s coming from one of your more positive friends. 3. Speaking of unappealing, pro golf is becoming exactly that. Just like anything else, sooner or later, I’ll find my joy elsewhere. But always with sadness of how things not only could be better - but have already long been far better. Funny how every issue above involves the degradation of society and it’s many previous joys as a direct result of greed, huh, Doc? Humans can really screw things up, can’t they? Seems to me, you’ve now diagnosed your recurring dreams! But hey, let’s seek some quality joy on the links together soon! Godspeed, my friend! WHODEY! 🐅🧒🏻

Joe Maddon, in his " Book of Joe " explains why he was fired from the Angels. The techo maniacs, including the GM, met with him before games telling him who could play and who could not on any particular game. All based on stats. He wrote, did they know that a player sucked the previous game because he broke up with his girlfriend, or had an argument with his wife ? Or, lost a close friend ? Humanity over stats all day. Caring for his players meant more and led to his demise. Sad !
