Prince was a god. Remains one of my favorite artists. He was the most influential artist of the 80's and paved the way for Michael Jackson.
Funny that "Nothing Compares" is Sinead's signature song while very few recognize it as a Prince song because it does not rank in his ouevre.
On a lesser note, he wrote "Manic Monday" for The Bangles, "I Feel for You" by Chaka Khan, "Love ... They Will Be Done" for Martika, plus some Sheila E. and Vanity 6 tracks.
The Art of Noise with Tom Jones cover of "Kiss" was terrific. Cyndi Lauper's cover of his "When You Were Mine" was my introduction to that track. Not as good as his, but important for elevating Prince to the top of my pantheon.
Too bad that he had the fight with his record label and lost his relevance and brilliance post-mid 90s.
A lot of artists have covered "Since I Don't Have You," but my favorite version is by Don McLean of "American Pie" fame.
And several have also covered "I Only Have Eyes For You," and while I do really enjoy the Flamingos' version, to me, nobody sings that one as well as Art Garfunkel. I don't think it's possible to do it better.
As others have mentionedthis song, Elton's version of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" was recognized by the Beatles themselves as the best version.
In Honor of Peggy Lee who died recently, I'm gonna say my favorite song of hers was "Is That All There is?"...let's break out the booze and have a ball...
My mom had Peggy's 1954 album that she played all the time, "Black Coffee"...very bluesie and old fashioned. I guess you could say I grew up on the blues, and mom's Old Fashions.
I was sorry they released Perine. He was dependable and could be counted on to pick up first downs. Big mistake, in my book. Would love to have him back.
Let's not forgot all of the covers that Frank Sinatra did in his later years, yeah? They were never any good, but they were, um, entertaining. And Joe Piscopo's spoof of him on SNL was flippin' awesome!
Red River Gorge > Clifty Falls.
What’s more important in a running game is not the running back... it’s the offensive line!

Disturbed did an amazing cover of Sound of Silence. Comes very close to topping the original for me, and that’s saying something.
I'm a day late due to being a snowbird in Fl right now. I have additions to great cover list:
Vanilla Fudge: Keep Me Hangin On
Hendrix: Hey Joe
Three Dog Night: Eli's Coming

My Back Pages by the Byrds does justice to Dylan’s best song.
Also, Keeneland tailgate in October is heavenly.
mobster Joe
All due props to The Boss, but I think Manfred Mann's cover of "Blinded By The Light" is better than Springsteen original.

Too many great covers to pick one. How about cover albums? My favorites:
"I Am Sam" soundtrack (Beatles)
"If I Were a Carpenter" 90's alternative groups doing the Carpenters

Carters Caves State park in Kentucky is a great place for a hike and checking out the changing colors.
Van Halen You Really Got Me and The Who Summertime Blues

Leonard Fournette is still out there. Always thought he and Mixon would make a nice 1-2 punch.
Feels like the Phillies year, but Texas has a great team and an incredible manager. Both still have to win 2 more, however.
When I want to listen to a cover song that blows the doors off all comers, Lynyrd Skynyrd's version of Call Me The Breeze is untouchable.
Light My Fire by Jose - absolutely, and also by Jose, the Beatle's In My Life - mesmerizing.
