Thanks for inspiring young musicians. I am thankful for the high school band director our kids had. He definitely impacted their lives in the most positive ways. Check out Paul’s article about the Ohio State i dotter from November 2018. There’s a young professional now living in LA whose tuba is collecting dust . His parents hope he finds a music group to join someday.

I sure miss the record stores up north. Now that I'm in Florida, they pale in comparison. We saw Arlo at the Southgate House several years ago before moving. (My wife and I love that place!) He's one heck of a songwriter with a cool, distinctive voice. Job well done!

Not sure the new rules would help Billy Hamilton much. As they say you can’t steal first .

Everybody’s is about the only place left to buy albums or CDs. I started going there in the ‘80s

Hats off to Apple Valley Randall. AV is a strange little town, but home to the longest golf shot I've ever made, so I like it. 117 gap wedge for eagle somewhere on the back. AVGC.

I've always appreciated Randall's comments in TML. Consistently wise and clever. Thank you.

Yeah, Willie is the man. An icon. On my personal Mt Rushmore of musical artists. I saw him, if I remember correctly, on his 75th birthday at Radio City Music Hall. Or Carnegie Hall. Or around his 75th if not on it. His son is pretty solid too. I was up too late one night a couple years ago, unsober, watching PBS. Austin City Limits came on and it was Lukas Nelson. The hater in me was offended that he was stealing so much from his dad's vibe, then I let that go and deeply enjoyed his set. Now he's one of my favs.

Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real. Find Yourself, Forget about Georgia, Just Outside of Austin.

If I could do anything, I would bottle my golf swing and prevent oxygen and time from doing what they're known to do.

Miscellaneous Willie Nelson fun fact: A few years back while on a business trip, I was heading north from Waco, TX, up to Dallas. I made a pit stop on I-35. This particular interstate rest stop just happens to be in Willie’s home county. This one is not just your ordinary rest stop, but is a dedicated Willie Nelson mini museum. I found it entertaining and informative, if not a bit weird. Why not just have a real live, certified museum in his hometown or “nearabouts”to it? Why a rest stop? But, as many of us know, Texas may not have invented weird, but it continues to define it.

Oftentimes I don't think teachers know what an impact something they may say to a student will have one his/her life. The teacher actually fills in as a parent, especially where there is only one parent in the family. A child needs an adult to believe in...to follow...to trust...to learn from. I respect your job as a teacher and I'll bet you were/are a good one. Be proud of what you do and remember the influence you have on each and every child you work with. You were inspired by a teacher...you already know this and I'm sure you have played it forward several times. Thank you for what you do.

I loved the tune. Thanks for sharing.

Randall (that’s Randy on the west side) glad to have you join the population of the Republic of Cincinnati. Cincy is a gem and each neighborhood has its own favor. Visit each and enjoy.

I still buy CD's because and it sounds you are too I'm a completist. Do I need the new Neil Young bootleg or the Jimi Hendrix live CD? Of course not but it's still fun to have and read the liner notes etc. Moles records up in Clifton is also a great place to shop next time your in town.

As Buffy used to say, so much juicy goodness! You sold a cd for Arlo. Loved the tune. I didn't buy a cd until 1997. Miss the player in the car every damned day, but the new ones don't have it. That may be why my daughter still hasn't parted company with the 2009 Sonata, along with the V6.

I kept maybe 50 albums in the divorce 25 years ago. Steve Miller band before they were arena ready. Golden. Some that my younger brother has borrowed and either just listened to or bought copies of. He has slowed down on the vinyl. Never did the exclusives.

The guy on the couch would love to see Denver do well in the playoffs. Jamal Murray played in Lexington briefly. Not following closely, tend to head upstairs before the left coast games get serious.

Come back anytime.

Great point about the running game coming back to Baseball. I have to think it's a factor in the Pirates' early success.

Thanks, as well for the tip on Mike's Music. I don't play, but I've been in love with music and stereo equipment for literally as long as I can remember. So I will most definitely take advantage of the opportunity to see some of those old icons.

We had some very good teachers at Milford HS in the mid-70s. But I'll be damned if we had any who could mimic Calvin Coolidge, or use Folk-master Woody to drive home points of US History. I have a new respect for Lakota!

I wish I could’ve predicted the future…about ten or so years ago I unloaded 600 or so vinyl albums..a wide ranging collection of 50’s, 60’s. 70’s and 80’s stuff..boy what an idiot I was🙄

Randolf, fantastic job. I've never gotten into vinyl, but have been a CD hoarder for 30 years. Shake It has a great dollar bin, where I picked up Eric Andersen's debut album and a couple of other items that were just as fantastic. I do have some vinyl, but it's mostly stuff that family members who wanted to get rid of their vinyl gave to me. I cannot imagine going all in on vinyl these days. It's ridiculously expensive. Even the old stuff has risen in price!

I was listening to Red Headed Stranger yesterday. Fantastic album, start to finish. Stardust may be my favorite Willie album, followed by Phases and Stages or The Troublemaker. I'd put Willie up there with Dylan for having consistently put out great music over the course of his career. Both artists have put out some amazing albums in the past decade.
