Spot on with the food, it’s criminally bad and will kill you at that. Sometimes the good ole days weren’t really what you remember. But if you think you have it bad, imagine being there sunup to sundown all weekend and needing to eat gluten free. You may as well ask the vendors if you can dig up an Azalea and eat it.

I like Pimento cheese. I really do. I get excited when it is served with a good cracker or petite toast. As previously stated, golf does zip for me, but I’m sure the grounds are breathtaking.

Hunter is stubborn about his pitches. His stuff needs to learn some humility. I agree with LaCure’s assessment - still much to learn…

But I digress…

Love the Masters, unfortunately from a distance. Eagles are the best, or at least one of my top three concerts in my life..surprisingly the other two were Harry Chapin and Lyle Lovett,, although an almost persnal session with Don Shlitz

Doc, Bronson Arroyo was a pitcher. He would make a good coach for Hunter. Hunter will not be a pitcher in five years because he’s just a speed thrower. His arm will be a wreck.

I've been fortunate to attend practice rounds in 22 and 23, although 22 was abbreviated by torrential rain. As Doc says, the experience exceeds expectations as few things do in today's over-hyped world. I think the good Lord himself would be proud had he laid out Augusta National. The vista from the clubhouse, the elevation changes, carpeted fairways, building architecture, the specimen magnolias, and the loblolly pines that blanket the ground with the pine straw that provides the setting for some of the amazing golf shots we have seen over the years. Augusta National has a southern charm that could only blossom from a course built on grounds of a horticultural nursery. I've had the pimento and egg salad sandwiches and washed them down with a $5 beer, and they're....well, okay. The sandwiches are southern traditions, but they fittingly play third fiddle to the golf experience. If you think you've gotten away with something with the cheap food, the superstore will restore your faith in capitalism. Eat and get back out on the course! My oldest son and I accomplished our goal of walking the entire course so we could recognize each hole when the drama unfolds on TV. Great tune of the day!

Pimento cheese sandwich - 😋 the texture and salt are to live for. I miss you covering the Masters. You were happy. Love the pink polo!

Rory doesn’t believe in himself (it’s an Irish thing). He’s just not a “clutch performer.”

Now, more than ever, I want to make a pimento cheese sandwich and watch the Masters, with a Captain & Coke within reach. I used to like pimento cheese sandwiches, which my grandmother on my dad's side, used to serve to me and my brother when were were little kids. But they were made with good old Illinois Fresh Dairy Farmers' milk cow's cheese. I actually like them. You've inspired me to try something I haven't eaten for many many moons. I'll be sure I don't go to the Masters to eat one. Does anyone even make Pimento Cheese anymore? I'll check on my next run to Kroger's.

Reds need to hit the ball. Just when I get excited about them, they like to throw us a lemon. Sounds like maybe Bronson needs to come here and teach these guys how to change up their pitching speeds. Johnny Cueto even a better example. Everyone practices with the fast ball machine, maybe that's the problem. My grandson was playing baseball in high school. He could pitch the ball 90 mph, and actually was thinking of becoming a pro. He said the three kids that could throw the ball the fastest would be the starters. That was the hottest thing going, so that's what the kids practiced doing...pitching fast and hard, as kids. Now they are pros and here we are, losing again because the directions they were being taught were incorrect and now a detriment to baseball and to baseball players.

Doc, I’m thinking that you’ve just never had a good pimento cheese. I’ve had some bad ones, mostly mayo and lacking in any taste. But I’ve also had some great pimento cheese. My daughter went to NC State, and while attending one of many tailgate parties, I was introduced to Wolfdaddy’s pimentos cheese. I feel comfortable in saying that if you would have had that one first, your whole opinion would have changed.

Hunter Greene’s pitches are all alike. Even his “change of speed” pitch looks almost exactly like his #1. Nothing breaks much. Hitters hone in the heart of the plate and just wait him out. It’s coming in right there, either 101 or 96. If he wants to stay around, he needs to learn how yo throw something 83 that breaks a ton. He has to change the batters eye level a bit. That, and $9.50 will buy you a double, mocha frapachino.

I make good pimento cheese. Sucker for those cute glass jars the pimento comes in. Usually use 8 ounces extra sharp cheddar and five six ounces sharp cheddar. Even enjoy shredding the cheese. A few shakes of smoky paprika and mayo to taste. Better bread than Augusta. Favorite rye. Crackers and celery sticks work too.

Kentucky fans are giving themselves heart attacks now that they have their wish and Coach Cal is gone. My niece from previous life lives in Fayetteville. I told her I hope they all have fun getting this thing going down there. Soo Pig!

Doc, the pimento sandwich at the Masters is tradition. We need a little more "tradition" in society today even if it's just a pimento sandwich.

I’m on my 11th year of rejection letters for The Masters lottery. It’s a bucket list item I may only ever get to enjoy if I win the actual lottery. If I’m ever fortunate enough to have the opportunity, the first thing I am doing is buying a couple of the Pimento cheese sandwiches! I used to gag on the stuff as a kid but have acquired a taste for it. (Price’s is good) I may have to get one of those overpriced packages now.

Terrific piece in The Athletic on the arm injuries and how it’s permeated down to the lowest levels of youth baseball.
