Great to see you are still writing Doc!

Beautiful stuff about your dad though the image of 8YO Doc getting that news is heartbreaking….

Bengals - 0-3 not insurmountable but the flight of that kind of start after last year and an offseason filled with hope would be crushing. How can an OL be this bad for this long? Ever since Whit left after 2015 it’s been awful. We’re on year seven…..

Your family stories always bring a tear or several. Definitely not complaining. As to the Bengals, it’s time to see if Taylor and his coaches can design a game plan that the opponents have to adjust to, on both, or at least one, side(s) of the ball. It’s time for the coaches and players to be the better prepared team. It’s time to see if the Bengals have assembled an OLine of mobile, hostile, and agile glass-eaters or an OLine of glass-jawed stumblebums. And BTW: Sean Payton is saying he could come out of retirement for the right opportunity. I doubt it would happen on Mike Brown’s watch, but Sean Payton and Joe Burrow? Taylor better start reigniting this team.

Maybe 10-7 wins the AFC North. I believe the only team capable of winning 10 games are the Ravens. Miami is most likely a loss. Baltimore on the road is a loss. KC at home is a loss. At TB and at Buffalo are loses. They would have to win the remaining games including at Cleveland and Baltimore at home to win 10 games. Possible but unlikely. This is why the sportsbooks have them finishing 3rd in the division.

UC doesn’t cover 16 1/2 points on Saturday. The offense will be mediocre until they figure out how to get the TE’s involved.

FC Cincinnati is the best game in town at this moment. Final home game next Saturday. Sold out. If someone offers you a ticket take it.

My Dad died when I was 3 years old. I don't remember him at all. People ask me what it was like growing up without a father. I really can't answer that as I don't have a frame of reference. I was lucky that my Mom was everything to me and I had several great male influences while growing up. Being a father now I have a unique relationship with each of my sons. I try to be to them what I think is a good person. I think I did OK as 2 of my sons are fathers themselves and are great dads. Great effort today Doc. Now about those Reds...

Dad has been gone a couple of decades, so I made my peace with that loss long ago. Not that I don't still ask his advice. But Mom didn't wake up last Christmas, so I don't know what to expect this December. Could be rough.

Not sure I said it yet: Welcome back, Paul. I'm glad you're still writing, whatever schedule works.

I am among those "of that age" who know the impact of the passing of "Dad". Simply put, I miss him so. It has been 24 years since he left this earth to rest in heavenly peace with "Our Father" in Heaven. Fondest memories remain of all we shared and all he taught me about life ... and about sports. Thanks for the reminder to pause and remember Dad today Doc. Peace to you my friend as we all remember your DAD along with you.

My father passed 11 years ago and there is rarely a day I don't think of him, fathers are one if the few that spend their life trying to make yours better, even if it isn't always perfect

Hard to believe that it's been four years since your dad died. They flew.

Nice job today. So happy to have you back.
