Huggins is an addled mean-drunk bully, let’s hope he files suit; discovery process will be better than Jerry Springer Show:::: coaches don’t have to answer to anyone, zero accountability,,,❓can you say Joe Paterno❓Bobby Knight❓

My prediction is if Northwestern terminates any and all Assistant Coaches who knew about the hazing issues and did nothing about it then they will have to replace every one of them.

I give Bob Huggins credit for bringing Bearcat basketball back to prominence and, like a lot of people, I “thought” Nancy Zimpher was evil for firing him. I was wrong. Like many other “star” head coaches, he thought he was bigger than the school and could do anything he wanted. It wasn’t true at UC and it’s not true at WVU. As for Fitzgerald, if he knew of these “running “ disgraces, I’m sincerely disappointed. I remember when he took over the reins at Northwestern when their coach, Randy Walker suddenly died. I thought he did an excellent job. To see what’s happened there now is just shameful. My only other comment on Northwestern is…I thought their student athletes were a “cut above.” I guess, not so much.

Home Run Derby…I’ve never really been a fan. I admit, way back in the day, I liked the television show, “Home Run Derby,” where established baseball stars would compete for money. Now, THAT was HOME RUN DERBY. I know participating in the Home Run Derby never seemed to hurt Griffey Jr. but I swear it ruined Todd Frazier.

Regarding today’s newspapers, I miss the days of checking the sports page for the box scores, batting averages and ERA’s. That is simply an era that is no more.

Paul, Right on the Money about Huggins. I wish more people had read the Huggins comments from the Pro Football Hall of Fame Lincheon which just preceded the Cunningham call. Shameful. Enquirer, May 11, page A3.

Did not watch the HR derby. Did not miss the HR derby.

Wondering if Ben Bryant might try to get a release and come back to UC. UC is woefully thin at QB beyond the UF transfer guy. UC could sure use some qb depth going into the grueling schedule; be nice if Bryant came back. He might even end up starting after a few games.

Always have a soft spot for Northwestern, they gave my Miami Redhawks their first Big 10 win in a decade last season. Thoughts and prayers for the team

It’s easy to find reasons why the HR derby is unwatchable. But another to suggest a way to make it better. Well done Paul.

Last night's derby was the opposite of entertaining.

I want to live in a world where AI does most jobs, and a small slice of oligarchs make all the money.

Let's take the bigger news first: as a faithful reader of the New York Times (print edition available at many locations of the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library branches), I am outright saddened by this development. NYT's soccer writer Rory Smith is the best in the US soccer market, in my humble opinion. That he will disappear from the NYT is a not just a shame, it will leave a deeply felt void (for me, that is).

As for Fitzgerald and Huggins, seems they have studied the ways of the Former President Who Shall Not Be Named quite well, in fact, into perfection. How these people live with themselves, I have no idea.

After spending the evening watching stuff we like on dvd, caught tail end of HR Derby. Junior looked good in his Mariners shirt. Not about to waste much time on it.

Subscribed to Enquirer down here in central KY when TML went behind paywall. Dropped it as soon as you retired. Back in the day preferred the Post. A little more Kentucky stuff and an afternoon paper. More timely local sports.

I like that The Athletic is included in NYT subscription. Get to read our buddy CTrent that way. I only get the Sunday one in paper form - by mail. Arrives on Tuesday or Wednesday usually. Fine by me.

Traumatized kids don’t speak up until they have to. Sickening what passes for locker room “culture.”

I figured Huggs met a lawyer at rehab , therefore cockamamie schemes.

Nothing wrong with the BeeGees.

I grew up not far from Northwestern U. It was "Thee University" back in the day. Great scholars and lots of mansions nearby. This type of misbehavior comes with the current political upheaval of those that can buy their way into...or out of...anything. No consequences leads to more of the same.

Is anyone that shocked to learn another Big Ten school is caught up in a sexual abuse scandal related to sports? It appears to be conference wide legacy.

My favorite part of this one is the Bee Gees. You gave my day some life....where's the dance floor?
