Enjoyed the article (as I always do). Discovering TML exists on an alternate platform was an unexpected gift for me this year. Happy Holidays to Doc, Mobsters. Looking forward to future TML articles.
Nice. Every day is Christmas for my wife and I and our family. We experience the same offset holidays from time to time, but yesterday we were all together for sharing gifts, a meal, and each other. These are great days, we cherish them.
Merry Christmas to The Morning Man and all the Mobsters.
Doc, I particularly connected to the talk about our foundations. It takes me to my grandparents and various aunts and uncles no longer with us, to stories they told of their grandparents and the holiday memories and traditions from their childhoods. I see their love reflected in my mom and make me appreciate all the more everything she did (and does) to make the holidays special for my sister and me. Even - and especially - when she barely had two nickels to rub together.
Here's to sitting in the attic, to looking back to help learn how to go forward.
My (somewhat) abbreviated Christmas history. Growing up we had a gigantic Christmas with all the family. So big my dad had to construct a wood addition for the dining room table. By the time mom brought everything to the table most of it was cold. Nobody said a word. This year I had the perfect Christmas. Had my two children and their families at my house. Did carry out lasagna from Olive Garden, I am lucky that I do not need anything. I got two gifts. A lottery scratch off yet to be scratched off and a $25 gift card from BW3's. I also got great comraderie and hugs and kisses from my grandchildren. I expected to be alone all day today. My daughter asked me if I would like to join her for breakfast at White Castle? Dumbest question ever asked. Place was SRO. What a great time. I am also fortunate that I could give the waitress a$20 tip. That made me feel better than she did. Merry Christmas everyone. And a very happy new year.
Merry Christmas. I always enjoyed your personal stories of you son and your daughter Jillian. Today was no different. Now that they are married, I look forward to new stories!
I find a little excitement (like the kid in us all on Christmas morning) each day hoping to find that latest edition of TML in my mail box. Your inciteful comments and my type of storytelling are a readable treat. Your talented bullpen of other columnists ain’t bad either. MERRY CHRISTMAS ☃️
Merry Christmas Paul! Thankfully, I can relate.
Merry Christmas, Doc. Looking forward to your blog in 2023!

And thank you for TML. It's one of the first things I read when I see it in my inbox.
I relate. Merry Christmas Doc, to you, to Kerry and to all of your extended family.
