Doc, historcially NYJ is a bad matchup for us. I can see it going either way tomorrow but should be a close game. Almost 3 games and i am close to jumping off point. I cannot take another year of about 6 and 11 and zac taylor telling us how close they are and how good their opponent was. I am convinced i waste too much time following them. I can go back to being a casual fan and not get invested emotionally. Its too much to deal with this organization every season.

Pujols just got to 700 HRs last night. Doesnt seem to be that big a deal nationally. MLB is wrecked and cannot be fixed especially with manfred in charge.

Some may call me a baseball purist. Okay, fine with me. I'm not sure others who may likewise be called baseball purists feel the same as I do, but I say YES 62 by Judge matters. More than that, the 700+ by Pujols matters. Of course, I reside here in Cincinnati where the floundering Redlegs are uninspiring and leave me (and other local baseball fans) no recourse but to seek 2022 baseball thrills from elsewhere. This year that equates to watching Judge chase Maris and arguing Bonds & Co are simply asterisks in the MLB record books. Despite my dislike for Pujols (a Cardinal most of his career and a Reds-killer throughout) I have great appreciation for his accomplishments and loved his successful pursuit of 700+ homers making him one of only 4 in the History of The Game to accomplish such a career milestone. Yes Doc, Judge's 62 matters and so does Pujols 700+.

As a local here in NYC, 61/62 means a whole lot to Yankees fans. Everyone at the stadium is aware of the moment. I was at the game the other night against Pittsburgh, everyone was on their feet for all of his ABs. But outside of the Yankee faithful? Even here it isn’t really moving the needle, at least not as much as the J-E-T-S comeback win or the paper tiger Football Giants starting 2-0. MLB blew this moment years ago when they lost a generation of fans by not paying attention to them.

I feel like I was just hit by a shillelagh. An Irish co-conspirator was amongst the mobsters all these years? Well, at least the TML latter years once the kid down the hall became the man at the school up north and then the man up northeast. That would explain all of those “likes” obviously posted after asking, “Hey dad, I need 50 bucks to take my girlfriend out to dinner.”

I’m thrilled to be able to read your dad’s words again and equally thrilled that we have an inside source to verify your dad’s hiking prowess.

Congrats on your wedding, Doc-2.

Not much of a college ball fan, huh?

It grows on me as the season does. But in truth, I like the NFL a whole lot more. That's a whole 'nother post.

I would add, Joey Votto was on Dan Patrick yesterday. He is in awe of Judge's season because of the different baseballs being used this year. You have to wonder how many Judge would have hit in the " lively ball " era. Certainly, the one last night would have made the stands.

How do we know Judge is clean? I am not suggesting he isn't, but who knows.

I guess if he wasn't a NY Yankee, there might be more interest. Outside of NY, lots of folks do not care for the Yankees.

Also, I think people not getting newspapers at home contributes to baseball 's decline. Pouring over the box scores every day, seeing the leaders in all categories every Sunday, that makes a difference. Now, unless you really follow the game, nobody would even know who is behind Judge. Just as much as the Home Run record is something, what about chasing the Triple Crown? I would love it so much more if he wasn't a Yankee.

Maybe they should measure Judge's hat size

PED’s are micro dosed now with very little chance for offenders to be caught. In the body and out in less than 24 hours. Gone are the days where the old ‘roids stayed in the body long enough, months really, to trigger a positive test. One would need to be very unlucky to get caught by any anti-doping authority today.

Now that's funny. And point taken.

When/if Judge gets 62+, I’ll consider it the record. The other three jokers were juiced and should continue to be scorned. I too am surprised it’s not getting much media attention outside of ESPN and MLB Network. This is another failure by MLB in regards to promoting/growing the game. Manfred is a clown.

It's too late for MLB to do what it should have done two decades ago: Vacate all power records held by those known to have used steroids. You're right. This is something the whole sports world should be excited by. And it would have been, had Baseball had the guts to do what was right in the wake of the steroid era.

That lyric sounds very close to Tenth Ave Freeze out. But the quite part of it, so I'm probably wrong.
