Great read, Doc. Thank you. There is NO defense of the madness that is guns and gun violence in this country. The leading cause of death for children in America is now being shot to death..... there is not one word in the outdated and vaguely written Second Amendment that suggests an unfettered right to gun ownership; and until the 1970's the courts and scholars agreed with that reading. The framers were pretty smart folks. I think they would be appalled to see that their country has become the most violent and deadly developed nation in the world.... by far. The failure of the elected and the electorate to respond to these tragedies in any meaningful way is a national disgrace.

Great tune and your expertise in writing is something I envy. The words you use make so much sense, but the problem is the people who needs to read and listen will never read them. The world is upside down and I feel sorry for the generation who follows us. I can’t imagine what they will have to deal with, what it will look like and how much less enjoyable than today’s world. I don’t understand why people do what they do and the lack of respect they have for others! I pray , but I sometimes ask myself if it does much good, but I won’t give up.
Remember when the disgruntled, disenfranchised citizen’s weapon of choice was a rental van fertilizer bomb?
Framers of the constitution didn’t have fertilizer rights in mind at the time, so maybe it was easier, but we managed to find solutions to that problem.
As citizens, more of us need to say, enuf is enuf and not be afraid to offend.
Go Reds…hopeful this core group of players inspires management to invest again.
Doc, you’re right. I found my Zen on the golf course today. It was a beautiful day out here in Pa. and I thoroughly enjoyed the outing. I hit the ball well and if my chipping would have been decent, I would have scored better but, no matter, just being out there was enough. That said, like you I don’t trust Spring. Today was great. Tomorrow could be gray, rainy and chilly.
As for the Reds, I truly like this team. They play hard and with true enthusiasm. If they had a de ent bull pen, there would be many more wins. They should get Sims and Santillan back soon and that won’t hurt. I’m not counting on Votto or Senzel but it would be nice if they came up and both played well. This is not a playoff team but I like the effort.
My copywritten motto is "Nature is the balance of our sanity."(c) There is no doubt Mother Nature can get really mad, but that's because we don't treat her with respect. The EPA was disrespected and laughed at her during DT's takeover of the WH. Pay attention and do what's right for this beautiful planet. Deregulations are killing us, and are frankly, really scary.
Re: M15's. The police feared them when the bad guys started showing up with them and were blowing holes thru patrol cars, for which the police had no protection. It's not getting any better. Only the military should carry military weapons. They are made for killing people. I used a 4/10 or 22 cal to hunt with on the farm. Hitting the target is the biggest part of the challenge, not blowing it off the face of the earth.
And, let me just say, it sucks to be sick when the weather finally warms up after years of hibernation.

Well when I played at Blue Ash last Friday I was experiencing the opposite of Zen, whatever that is. Whew, that was a long day. Apple Watch said I walked 5 miles...and I had a cart if that tells you anything. :)
Man, the Reds are frustrating. It is early in the season but the loses at the end of games is already taxing on this old guy. Does the ownership not have the money to spend on the bullpen, do they not care, or are they just not good at judging talent? I think it has to be one of those three, correct?
Unless I missed it there’s not a single comment in today’s TML about being tougher on criminals as a way of curtailing gun violence. You know, the ones responsible for the majority of “mass” shootings.
Louisville’s own mayor, Craig Greenburg, had an attempt made on his, and some of his staffs, lives last year. This at his then campaign headquarters. Fortunately the shooter, Quintez Brown a 21 year old Activist, failed in the assassination attempt on Greenburg despite getting off several rounds. After his subsequent arrest Brown was out on bail….WITHIN 48 HOURS posted by by The Louisville Community Bail Fund, and has yet to be taken to trial.
The majority don't become "criminals" until they actually start shooting at people. How do you propose becoming tougher on them before they would go off and start shooting like this Louisville guy? He's a multi-degreed, stable professional, white coach's son bought his gun only last week, apparently when he lost his job, and decided to murder his work 'family' of years?
Well there is also the reality that 4o R Senators representing maybe 3o-35% of the electorate (encompassing both sides) can filibuster any proposed national legislation
Stick to sports: Amen, Paul!!! Maybe one warm day, We The People will decide enough is enough and take to the streets. I’m afraid that’s the only way this will change.
I saw a really cool cbs special called 14 green jackets or something similar. It featured trevor immelamn interviewing sheffler tiger and nicklaus together. Definately worth a look. Trivia ? Who else was in buffalo springfield besides neil young and stephen stills?

Suggest you read Boldly Go by William Shatner.

My thinking the temple field(s) align with planetary noosphere and people like Jung, Tesla or Cayce would 'download' mind stuff from the collective
I forgot to correct my grammatical mistakes and I don’t know how or where to edit. These three dots don’t help.

Term Limits....for so MANY reasons....term limits

I painted a picture and named it "Ode to Trees". I am a tree hugger. They are our lifeline.
Then there's my 7/26 co-birthday buddy CGJ and his affinity for nature spirituality. Are you familiar with Bron Taylor or James Endredy?

Me too. I'm tryna teach you my CelTao tree trance meditation protocol

Thank you, Paul, for the beautiful essay on the season! I need to re-read it with Vivaldi in the background. Look it up, kids!
Totally agree with your stand on guns.
A few things I like to remind myself every time this convo comes up...
It's easy to say "Ban [this]!" Or "Bill of rights!" and rustle up emotions, but everyone sounds calloused and jaded once you start talking logistics.
Most of the people on both sides want to a) Stop the killings and b) protect our liberties.
We need to operate from that assumption or we will get nowhere.
Well there is also the reality that 4o R Senators representing maybe 3o-35% of the electorate (encompassing both sides) can filibuster any proposed national legislation
Does that mean we can assume the worst about them?
That they will remain in the pockets of the NRA and gun lobby?
If you want to believe things are hopeless, go ahead.
Are you saying that's not the reality? It's not the fault of the common sense majority the hurdle they face
If you're looking for a fight, you'll have to go someplace else.
Yelling at clouds won’t hurry the sun.
Stick to sports: Amen, Paul!!! Maybe one warm day, We The People will decide enough is enough and take to the streets. I’m afraid that’s the only way this will change.
