Couldn't agree more regarding Dak Prescott, he wouldn't be a top 10 QB in the AFC. Way over-hyped.

I’d rather watch 10 hours of Hallmark Christmas movies where we eventually find out the handsome town handyman speaks 6 languages and secretly owns the town than to watch those two Yellowstone episodes again.

However…Taylor Sheridan didn’t forget how to write since last we heard from him. I suspect those two boring ep’s were combined to set a sinister story line moving forward.

But…this…Luke Grimes (Kacey) and Kelsey Asbille (Monica), in losing a child last night, proved neither took the time over the break to gain the benefits of acting lessons.

And this…Why spend 4 seasons of narrative on showing how bad ass the ranch hands are just to show them ankle roping each other while playing “pin the tail on a honkey” at the election celebration?

And this…the product tie-ins with Buffalo Trace, Filson, and Duluth Trading company were several bits too much.

Although…Market Equities’ new employee, Sarah Atwood, should make for some great TV when her and Beth eventually go after each other. Atwood had some great lines while being walked to her office.

As far as “Willin” goes, I’m partial to this version by Steve Earle…

No mention of the Bills-Vikings game? 2 very good teams in a playoffesk atmosphere. I’m afraid The Men would not be a match for either of these ... at least at this point.

Since the Bengals were not playing, and Lamar's Ravens seemingly off as well, I watched the first two episodes of Homeland on Hulu. Nice dropping back in with Carrie and Saul and the whole initial crew.

Good old IMDB app listed Hulu as a way to watch. Works for me.

Reservation Dogs my go to series on there. Half hour comedy full of teenagers living on the Rez. Half of second season left, but I turn to it whenever I need that niche filled. I do love well done coming of age shows.

I give all the credit to those who have made it to this point in "Yellowstone." I just started watching it with my wife this weekend, and the first two episodes of the series have been snoozers in my opinion. I'm going to assume it picks up, and keep plugging away.

"The Calling" looks like a good series to start, by the way. Might give that one a shot.

The Family are low-hanging fruit for Hamilton County politicians. We know the score of the lease agreement between the two parties ... the caterwauling about the naming rights is solely to give the impression the county officials are working to get county taxpayers their "fair share." Simply a mirage.

And, as one-sided as the lease agreement is, The Stadium Formerly Known as Paul Brown, along with GASP, have helped turn what was once an industrial eyesore of a riverfront -- the only things worth checking out down there in the 1980s-1990s was The Old Spaghetti Factory and Caddy's, unless you enjoyed touring fruit warehouses and the like -- into, at least, somewhat of a nightlife-gathering spot.

I'd go to the Rose Room, if only to use the Rose-O machine. That would be priceless.

Doc, I am very impressed with the Banks before and after Bengals games. I remember how sterile the surrounding environment was for a Reds or Bengals game when Riverfront was still standing, making the Banks, Mardi Gras in comparison. Filson's is a nice addition.

Waiting for Columbus is still the best live album I've ever heard. People will say Little Feat died when Lowell George died (partially true), but when drummer Richie Hayward passed away, that was it. He was the heartbeat of the band.

Whew! You said a lot. Good stuff that makes you think and the music was a good pick today. I enjoyed today’s piece as usual! Thank you!

Today’s writings cover lots of ground, all were very entertaining and made excellent points.

I do like the idea of “The Rose Room” and Pete in a booth at the HR Casino. MLB is screwing its own brand long term, is too vain to take a good look in the mirror and is driving away lots of fans (especially younger generations) with their “money is god” big market team payroll approach. The NFL has the better idea with salary caps that ensure multiple franchises can field competitive teams. Any city can make a run in the playoffs. Cincinnati proved that brilliantly last season.

I enjoy going to GABP park but cannot watch a full game on TV unless it is a close playoff game. They are running me off as well and this is a lifetime baseball fan talking here. Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente, Bob Gibson, Mickey Mantle, Sandy Koufax and dozens more. That was baseball in its finest days.

Paul, Loved your comments on the Rose Room and sports gambling at the casino.

As far as your comment on board games, I assume you’re familiar with manufacturers Avalon Hill, SPI. An interest that seems primarily to those in their 60’s or older. I’m 68. Nice to hear of a fellow hobbyist.

Was there anything dumber and still fun than the Tudor Electric Football lineman who locked arms and spun around in circles

PS: Yellowstone: Something’s gonna happen when the wolf’s collar is discovered. Clever idea by Rip, the problem solver, but no way they all slip off the logs and sink to the bottom. Flawed plan. 🫰

Agree 100% on the TV shows. We kept waiting for SOMETHING to happen on Yellowstone. Pretty much glad when the 2 hours were up. We keep thinking we should give Tulsa Kings a try. Then after still another promo we look for another old/missed/new series to binge. We’re almost thru the final season of Justified.

I must be the last White man alive to have not seen Yellowstone, although I did watch 1883. Currently watching Lilyhammer with Steven Van Zandt. Pretty entertaining. Saw the last season of The Sinner. I do like that show but it's a slow burn. Wife and I also watching The Practice, an older legal drama I never watched when it came out. Very good show. Cheers!

Great TOTD Doc. Might I kindly and graciously ask for you to include something of the "anthem" variety from Boston or The Band in future TML's? With your encyclopedic knowledge, I'm betting you know what I'm thinking.

Random off-topic thought, suggesting that you consider adding disc golf to your family of leisure activities. It's fun and challenging - and fits the Thin Wallet budget. Why wait out the winter, no better time to try it than upon your next visit to your palatial FL estate.

Sadly, I have to agree on Yellowstone. Watched the last couple episodes of the previous season. Turns out there was no need. Predictable plot with no twists, same tragedy for the same characters. Stayed up to the end, thats saying something for this OG. Turns out sleep would have been as good a use of the time!

Two-hour shows are like double albums. No need. End up with too much filler.
