Welcome back. I was happy to see your page on Facebook. I’m a music fan and a sports fan. My grandfather signed Sandy Koufax out of UC and I’ve had dinner with Mick Jagger and the always non rockstar rockstar Brad Delp. My love for music is as deep as your’s Paul. I love finding new songs from classic bands…recent discovery Boulder Skies from Pure Prairie League. We usually see eye to eye but not always. When I do disagree with you, I like seeing your opinion and respect it.

I don’t discuss politics or religion because people don’t respect others anymore and it is too divisive. But I agree with you on this one 100%. My dream ticket would have been Biden McCain…one can dream right..

I totally agree on your opinion of getting the ball first and setting the tone for the game..if the other team scores first we are always playing from behind. I also like the moxie involved with going for it on 4th down. There is a great episode of Young Sheldon where he gives the stats of going for it on 4th down.

Welcome back, I’ve always enjoyed reading your column. It’s good to see your thoughts about other topics. I enjoyed your articles over the years about your son down the hall and your amazing daughter. Welcome back..

Remember picture in picture tvs? I could juggle three and four shows that way in a pinch.

Burrow looked recovered out there yesterday. How sweet it is to win. They play better when I look up from my book once in a while and check the score.

I did learn Perrine's name and number. Saw him dragging people with him. One of my favorite things to see.

Enjoyed the videos of Joey Votto walking around the ballpark in Larkin shirt talking to kids and getting selfies. That left arm never moved. Well locked down. February will come. Cannot watch anymore. Season is over for me.

Doc, you have talked about those ESPN talking heads for many years. At least those guys have made a positive assessment. I feel you are missing the worst of the worst: Steven A. I don’t even know how to describe his negativity politely.

So right about deferring. And great takes on the Bengals. Still not sure what to think but a short rest and Miami at home should tell a lot.

As for Trump, he a narcissist clown.

Great tune of the day. Besides The Marshall Tucker Band, I gotta believe the last southern band to open with a woodwind instrument had to be General Lee’s fife and drum corps at Appomattox.

I liked your article today, but I think Joe Burrow looks more like the young guy in Shawshank Redemption!

I happen to enjoy your ado, Doc. The set-up is always the hard part. Further ado, please. Further ado.

Bengals did much better this past weekend. The Oline was more responsive. What about the BEARCATS jumping 26/27th in the poles! As for T-rump….. he’s still a cancer whose vile is sickening. He sleeps with the enemy🐀

Mixon's problem is that he stops or stutter steps behind the line nearly every time he carries. That's his move, and it's how he makes people miss. It's more successful in the open field than behind the line, though. I think Perine should get more snaps, but I also think Mixon could benefit from different ways of getting the ball in his hands. We saw some of that yesterday, at least one screen pass, couple other targets. I think splitting the carries a bit more and being creative with Mixon would go a long way.

As for the defense, I know they haven't played any juggernaut offenses but they deserve some cred. Let's not forget how they played last year in the post season. They're playoff tested and by my account look just as good as last year (and it's mostly the same squad). If I had a knock it would be on QB pressures. They still don't quite get home often enough when only rushing four.

Hey Doc. I had an Aaron Judge moment this very day. No kidding, just a few minutes ago I was actually watching paint dry to see what colors we want our house to be painted when I thought, “This must be what it’s like to be an MLB fan.”

Couldn't agree more about T-Rump. Friends who live in Europe are completely bewildered. I could never suffer a liar and am surprised at those who do. Southern Rock, There is only one category and that is Allman Bros. Band. Love the non-sports part of the program. Not such a big Bengal fan. I remember what Sam Wyche said.

The Black Crowes are Southern rock, and yea, they are Tier 1 for sure. Other than that, I like the football and political analysis. :)

Because politics is so devisive I don’t vote. I rarely pay attention to CNN or FoxNews because it’s all trash. I don’t bitch about anything political- ever. So my opinion is truly right down the middle.

What is really unfortunate was about 2 years ago I saw a group of 4 kids riding their bikes (probably 13/14 yrs old) and one of them carrying a “F^€k Joe Biden” flag. Could not believe it what I was seeing. What’s worse is their parents probably somehow thought this was a good idea.

And whether or not you agree with who was elected or not it would be nice to see a return back to just a decent level of respect for the elected official. Yes- I know they don’t respect their constituents but my point remains.

It’s sad to see that We The People get micro-focused and divided and continue to fail to take a macro look at how fortunate we are to live in this country.

Great to see TML again! I have perhaps a bit of a unique perspective on Trump. I voted for him once but have no delusions about his shortcomings as a human being. However, I believe he made (for the most part) vastly better decisions for our country than his political opponents. Anyone who thinks JoeB2 is an improvement over Trump is in deep denial.

I voted for Trump in 2016, four years later believed his policies were good for United States business and workers, but he was one of the most abhorrent individuals to live in the White House. Now feel the same way, except he is one of the all time ass-clown people ever.

I currently live in the UK, so time difference makes it hard to watch the game. But I do my best with following tweets, play by play, watching highlights and post game diagnosis. One thing I’m sure of is Zac Taylor needs to hand off the play calling duties. This isn’t about calling plays, but the first two games showed tough situations with the clock ticking, calls for a game manager (HC) while another person is looking at the next play (OC). When you combine the two, ineffective game management and play calling occurs. Being an effective leader means being able to shine a light on your own performance and be man enough to make the necessary corrections. Zac, manage the team. BC take the calls.

Secondly, all of Cincinnati sport’s team management seem to have a “homer” problem. Both Bengals & Reds continue to play vets who get more rope than they should. Results should dictate playing time. Mixon has shown he needs to sit a game. Chris Evans deserves a chance to shine. Perine too. Gio, Burkhead, all went and became studs on their new team. Smh. Also, Clay Johnson needs a few snaps too. Dax in for Apple, yes please.

Votto for the Reds is the same. Marvin Lewis, D Baker, all these coaches played the vet card while missing out on opportunistic youth looking to make a splash. Didi left because Cozart was the starter. Smh. Is this just a Cincy thing?? If the youth hasn’t learned the system, is this the player or the coach? The Price of a player shouldn’t guarantee a spot. You pay for potential, but sometimes that’s not always a great return on investment.

Speaking of the coach, I was a big Frank Pollack fan, but his past few years here hasn’t been great. And considering he’s bounced around so much, makes me wonder if there’s a reason for it. Are we so enamored with talking glass eating that we look over seeing results? Im a results guy. Talk is cheap. I think we need a new OLine coach next season.

Lastly, I love the politics. Keep it coming. If people are skipping it, it’s because they have a hard time hearing their political ideology may not be so good. History shows recessions almost always succeed Republican presidents. Democrats usually are left to clean up the mess and carry the blame. Investing for the future usually costs money up front. That’s part of the deal. I don’t understand why hard working blue collar folks align themselves with rich cronies. Trump has never been a man of the people. He literally is a con man through and through. When you rob from a children’s cancer charity and start up a fraudulent university, and you still get votes....I’d be doing some soul searching if he was “my guy.” No one can explain to me, without sounding like a jerk, why they vote for Trump. Maybe someday, someone will come with an articulate, intelligent response...but it’s been 6 years and it’s the same old nonsense.

If you read the people who cover(ed) Trump on a daily basis, you'd see frequent mentions of Trump mocking the people who love him -- working-class folks who seem to believe he understands them. Who think he's a tough guy. He's anything but.
