The Revolution Is Televised
A plea for peace between the Reds and the Blues. Political leanings don't change who we are, the friendships we keep and the families we cherish.
I had lunch recently with someone I consider a good friend. We gather several times a year, often over a burger at a favorite joint, to catch up on all things general and specific. He’s a Republican. At least I think he is.
I’m not positive because we don’t discuss it. I’m an Independent who Trump shoved left-ward. (Trump’s party has done a fine job of carrying on Trump’s shoving.) So be it.
There is so much else to discuss. Families, careers, trips planned and taken. The Reds and UC. He’s a very smart guy, a tremendously successful businessman. I learn from him. I’d miss our friendship terribly. Why would I risk the relationship over something as calamitous and foolish as politics?
