Doc, I too have been recently turned on to Pink. Like Lady Gaga, she's a perfectionist that is a grinder. Speaking of Grinders I was lucky enough to see the Rolling Stones in Atlanta last Friday. 2 hours of non stop go. I was especially impressed by Keith. Sang three songs while Mick took a breather, funny dare I say cute, a regular showman. Amazing what sobriety and rehab can do . At 81 Keith and Mick and Ron are the ultimate pros. If anyone has a chance to see them I say go. Most shows the ticket prices are at face or below.

I have a 30 year old Scotty Cameron putter that I still use. I bought it at Hickory Woods for $150 with a gift certificate for winning a tournament there. Every so often I audition another putter but no putter has been a better coworker than the Scotty. I have been offered as much as $500 for it. Nope. Not going to let it go..

Won my Scotty in a raffle at a golf outing. At least 30 yrs ago. Still use it every week in the golf league. I still suck at putting as well as the rest of my game.

I think Pink is great. Probably a dozen great songs. Her own person and style.

About 15 years or so ago ARS played at Miami Meadow Park in Miami Twp (the land between Milford and Loveland and where I live). I was and still am a big fan since the first time I heard Champagne Jam. Anyway....big late afternoon thunderstorm rolled in and it was bleak. My wife opted out but I decided to take a chance. Bingo....show was on and ARS played what seemed like a private concert for me and a handful of other fans. Paul Goddard played Bass and his solo on Champagne Jam was a highlight.

I can't putt with a $20 putter and I can't put with a $400 putter. I still visit my last 2 putters at Golf Exchange when I stop in and visit new equipment. They know when I put them in the truck all by themselves what's happening.

Just had a new fat grip put on my vintage Ping Anser from 1980something. Just can't let it go. Ray would understand. Great choice on the tune today.

Loved the Ray monologue!!!… My new best friend is a two-ball Odyssey this year. Rolling it as straight and true as I ever have. It did not cost me $5 bucks ;-)….but I am an OG myself and decided it was okay to pamper myself!!!

Going to check out that cigar bar. Well done today!!

Pro Tip: use a sharpie and draw a dead straight line through both balls. Can be scrubbed off if you don’t like it.

Scotty Cameron, toe hang, with a fat grip called a “slim”. About $500 new. I’m currently an 8.9 index. At 34 I was a 15. In my forties, I’ve dipped down to a 5-6 in July and August all four years. Playing Maketewah more often (160+ single digit members) has sent me back north on scoring average and index.

ARS was marketed as the new Lynyrd Skynyrd post airplane crash that killed 3 group members. Listen to this song, So Into You, and Imaginary Lover and it’s obvious their sound is nothing like LS. ARS bass player was arguably the stud of the group, and not in the looks department.

Can someone smarter than me explain how Hunter Greene has not developed a change up? If he had that 3rd pitch, he’d be nearly Un-hittable. Derek Johnson didn’t get to the big leagues by not being able to develop talent. Seems odd.

Good one today.

When I was struggling with putting...but, then...when wasn't I?...I got fed up and looked on line to find the best putter available, at any cost. Then I went to Golf Galaxy and found the club with the exact same description, at a little lesser price and bought it. Mostly because it's head was my favorite blue color, that went with my driver and a couple of my golf shirts. See, I figure if you buy a "used" one, it was probably like a mean dog at the shelter. Abused and mistreated. You really don't know Ray's history, right? Perhaps he is just worn out and has been tossed into lakes and slammed into tree trunks. He probably had a bad upbringing and suffered abuse by a lesser than average duffer. So my new putter is a Mizuno milled with a forged steel head. It lies flat on the green, instead of tilted as many do. Nice weight and it actually stays on line. I love it! It's actually 2 years old now, but I couldn't play last year due to surgery I had in the summer. I'm just saying, I would never put it in the garage or basement or punish it in any way. I paid too darn much for it! If you pay big for the best putter, you will not stop having a relationship with it, and it will love you back. Just sayin'....You're mind will convince you this is the BEST because you paid for the BEST.

A lot of it is mental...but, golf is a mental game, right?

BTW love Spooky

I agree that Reds pitching is key to any success they have this year. (Still wish we had Cease instead of Montas)

Brewers in 1st is somewhat shocking. Pitching has been okay. Hitting well. I expect they will slide back.

Lodolo has been outstanding. Abbott and Greene have been good, giving consistent innings to help bullpen. For Reds to make Run they’ll have to keep improving.

Pirates have 3 scary guys at top of rotation. I’d probably take them over ours, but it’d be close. Skenes is incredible. I’d take him over Greene. Keller and Lodolo is pretty even, as are Jones and Abbott.

Cubs staff is better than their numbers. A bit banged up. Steele was an all star last year. Imanaga is very good. Brown and Assad are tough. Taillon a better 5 man.

It’s a tough division. Not as many superstar names ($$$) but solid teams. Money won’t buy a championship. See Diamondbacks.

Key is to get about .500. 4-5 games over by A-S break would be good!

Great article today!!

Scott, in typical Reds fashion, we let the Cards outbid the Reds for S Gray who has pitched for us before and is a stud and probably wanted to come back to Cincy. Instead of giving him 3 yrs 75M we went cheap with Montas coming off a shoulder issue for one year at 16M. We have a team that can win NOW in an average division but we go cheap loke we always do. GO REDS! Still love em but jeesh!

Doc. Shocked at your late revelation on Pink. 😱 You missed an amazing show in Cincy. Pink & Brandi Carlile! Was incredible.

So many great Pink songs. This one gets me. It’s about her dad.

Pink needs to be offered that Vegas residency pronto. Cirque people can design her stage.👍❤️❤️. I’d go to Vegas again for that.

Pacing at home today while someone dear to me has major surgery far away. Will visit later in the week.

Stubbornly clung to my first putter for many years, then switched to a fancy one. For a couple months. Went back to my unnamed original for a few more years, then found a cheapie in a used sports equipment store. Love at first grip. Still have it. We'll ride off into the sunset together.

'Big 3' starters? Really close, stat-wise. I'll take ours, overall. Cards' guys are OLD. Pirates are more unproven. Cubs and Brewers are question marks, really. In the end, it all comes down to health.

Milwaukee's where they are because of their bats. Batting average 3rd in league, runs scored 7th. Can they keep it up? We'll see. Gambling. I'll pass on it, both discussing and doing (to a lesser extent). Caitlin is handling all these crazy situations very well. I'm a fan.

I prefer the harder southern rock bands, but ARS is solid.

I want a mallet putter so badly. Went to Miles of Golf the other day and they range from $300 to 600 new!! "I know for certain that if I buy one I will make every putt I look at" is what I told myself before I laughed myself right out of the store. Will look for something used.

Try Callaway Preowned site. They carry Odyssey putters. From mint to good condition, with prices varying. You can save 50% off of new, and they have recent models, including this year..

I will do that. Thanks for the tip!

Two of the original Atlanta Rhythm Section members came from the Classics IV. I image that's why they chose to record it. I like both versions. Classics IV best song was the hopelessly schmaltzy Traces. The only pop hit song to lead off with an oboe solo.
