It was nice over the weekend to watch a golf tournament that featured all the world’s best players, but having them all around wasn’t essential. It was good, very, very good to watch the LIV defectors be either wholly irrelevant (Mickelson, Dustin Johnson) or entirely miserable. Defending Masters champ Jon Rahm could not have looked less enthused while sitting in Butler Cabin, waiting to put a green jacket on Scottie Scheffler.
Rahm didn’t look like someone was kicking his dog. Rahm looked like someone was kicking him. Good.
