How much is enough?
When it comes to the number of zeroes on a bottom line. . . how many will satisfy us? Amassing great fortunes satisfies on many levels. Financially, egotistically, competitively, power-fully. He who dies with the most toys. . .
Emmanuel Clase, once the best closer in baseball, is supposed to make $6 million in ‘26 as part of a 5-year, $20 million contract with the Cleveland Guardians. That’s assuming he isn’t spending the rest of his life in jail. It’s a decent assumption, given he’s accused of rigging pitches during MLB games, to make money for degenerate prop-bettors.
Allegedly, Clase was paid as little as $5,000 to do so.
