Procollege basketball’s 11-day regular season commences Saturday, at least around here. UC is at Houston, Creighton visits Xavier. Unlike the previous four months, these two games have immediate interest. Even casual fans might watch.
Are there any other sports with a figurative 5-week season? Maybe you junk out on KenPom rankings in December or Quad 1 wins before New Year’s. You’d be in the vast minority. The NFL is the carnivore of sports. Everything else is dog food.
