Bob Knight, 1940-2023

I knew him a little. I liked him a lot.

Bob Knight could not be Bob Knight today. Whether that’s good or bad is up for debate. He died Wednesday at 83. A lot of folks are sad about that. Just as many would call him a sumbitch.

He was arguably the greatest coach in college basketball history, but some will remember him best for throwing a chair. The discipline he demanded from his players he was unable to apply to himself. It was the central irony of his life.
