Frequent Perusers of This Space know I’m beneath awful at predicting how the Men will play on Any Given Week. I’m also the world’s unluckiest gambler. If I pick a team and take the 12 points it’s getting, said team will lose by 13. It did, in fact, in September 2000, when I plunked down 10 Australian dollars at a Sydney sportsbook, while I covered the Olympics.

I took the Bengals and the 12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags won 13-0, getting a field goal with 1:50 left in the game. Proving that the Lost Decade Men could screw me from 10,000 miles away.

Bengals fans rejoice when I pick against their team.
