What happens if KC says no and actually means it?
Jackson County, Mo., where the Chiefs and Royals play their home games, has voted no on a measure that would have extended a 3/8-cent sales tax for 40 years, to help pay for a new ballpark for the baseball team and extensive stadium renovations for the football team.
The measure went down in flames, 58-42 percent. Both sides said they’d go back to the drawing board, which is what both sides always say when a vote loses the first time. The teams’ quest is the same, though:
We want you to pay for our playpens.
