Being a fan is hard, man. I don’t have to tell youse that. It takes a special kind of masochism, with a side of naivete, to root for any team not named Dodgers or Chiefs. The payback for your loyalty is misery, 99 percent of the time. That and taking weird pride in your fanly toughness.

Anybody can root for Ohio State. It takes stones to be a Reds fan.
